As those of you who read my wife’s new blog may already know, I’m moving to Belgium. We’ve been working hard over the last few weeks to go through our old things, deciding what to keep, donate, or sell. It’s amazing just to see the amount of cruft I’ve collected over the years – it’s enough to make a halloween costume:
We’re going to be transitioning from our house to an apartment, so we are trying to take only the bare minimum with us. Most of our furniture is on craigslist, much of our clothing has been donated, most of our books sold. We still have a lot of random knick-knacks to go through. I’m not that attached to them, but my wife is having a hard time divesting herself of certain things.
So, a few answers to some randomly asked questions:
- I’ll still be working for Google
- I’ll still be writing software
- Moving the last week of December
- Renting our house, selling our vehicles
- Storing the VW Bus for a rainy day
- I’m going to miss Netflix
- I have to learn French
- Looking to live in Brussels rather than Mons
- Commute time: 1 hour of hair-raising lane-splitting madness
- It’s not really cold. The weather is like Seattle:
So, there is my big news — any questions? Happy Halloween ya’ll!
