For the last couple of weeks, Dallas and I have been busy working on simplifying our belongings as much as possible. Part of it is in preparation for some major life changes next year, and part of it is getting rid of the excessive amounts of junk that we have. We’ve now sold over $1000 worth of books on Amazon, $500 worth of motorcycle equipment on ADVrider.com, and have listed another $1000 worth of furniture on Craigslist this week:

In between all of this selling of stuff, we haven’t really done much interesting. Dallas had her 30th birthday, for which we had a party at Smoke Jacks [photos], and I bought her a new sewing machine. Last weekend, we went to Wat Buddha Bucha, a Thai Buddhist temple in Decatur. We were supposed to meet some friends there, but we weren’t able to wake up in time for the ceremonies. We did have some tasty thai food though, including the spiciest sausage I’ve ever had.
This weekend I’m going to work on my motorbike some, and preparing some more stuff for sale. I’ve got five UNIX machines I no longer use: An SGI Indigo^2, SGI Octane, Sun Ultra 5, an RS/6000, and an HP Visualize Workstation. I may actually put my old Shuttle XPC for sale, as I’m looking at replacing it with a new Atom 330 based machine.
I am sure looking forward to a clutter-free experience at home soon!
