Motorcycle Safety Myths and Misconceptions

May 14th, 2006 · Comments

Got a motorcycle or know someone who does? You may want to read the The Deadly Dozen: 12 Motorcycle Safety Myths and Misconceptions. I happened upon this link from the Old Guy’s Motorcycle Ramblings Blog. I can honestly say that I’m still more freaked out about riding on an interstate than riding in city traffic, even if it is technically less dangerous. My outings have been fairly low traffic so far, thankfully.

On a side note, I had my first low-side getoff on my bike this weekend. I was practicing u-turns at a dead end and didn’t make it one time. I hid the curb at an odd angle and the bike toppled over. No damage, except for my pride. Hand guards and foot pegs took the brunt of the impact. When I stop dropping my bike, I’ve got some nice Fastway F4 Footpegs to install on it. :)
