Pumpkin Gathering

October 27th, 2003 · Comments

On Friday I went to my first pumpkin party, courtesy of Dallas. It was a small quiet party, with just Dallas, myself, Gihan, and Sunnie in attendance. The pumpkins we carved are shown left to right in that order. Gihan (egyptian) and Sunnie (Korean) were classmates of Dallas’s, that I had not yet met. While we carved we spoke a lot about our cultures, and school.

Dallas baked some excellent pumpkin pie, and cooked our pumpkin seeds as well. I drank some strange yellow-green concoction of Orange juice, Midori, Vodka, Triple-Sec, and peach schnapps, while the rest of them had water.

While watching the Charlie Brown Halloween special, we loaded up on more junk food. We had pecan pie, and chips, and I at least ate way too many of the pupmkin seeds that were covered in cinnamon and sugar.

I was glad to meet up with people I’ve only known in name, and it was a nice relaxing and entertaining time. Soon though comes the Halloween costume parties, and I definitely look forward to them. I’m considering dressing up as Zorro, my childhood hero. I remember my lego box when I was small being covered in various permutations of the spelling “Zorro”, from my attempts to spell as a 5 year old.

Once I get my broadband, I’ll post the rest of the photos (sigh). Oh, on a side note: Daylight savings time didn’t happen for us this weekend. Our county doesn’t subscribe to that malarky. This means I’m on the same timezone as EST right now! Yay for having another hour to do homework.
